Olivia and I had a chilly and grey walk around Montgomery Castle the other week.Briefly: the castle was built in 1223 for Henry III by Hubert De Burgh. It was destroyed in by Parliamentarians in 1649 during the civil war.
The views on a clear day are spectacular.

I used to love going round old castles years ago.

Castles are great places to visit, the climb up to them is well worth the effort.
I would love to be able to visit these old castles and ruins. So much history--probably have a cool feel about them too. A great series of photos!
