Look Around

On making the short journey today from my mother's house to the local park (200 yds?) with my dogs and two of my children I took these photo's of some of the rickety old buildings in my town. I don't normally take much notice of them as I'm used to them and never give them a second look really. But I think that in future I'll have a bit of a look around and take some more. It's surprising what's about!

Isn't it surprising the beauty we take for granted and don't even notice? Sometimes I take a drive primarily for the purpose of picture taking (I think that was a tongue twister!) and then I look outside my back door and realize I could have just stayed home. We are both quite fortunate.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

That is a very interesting set of buildings. I love the diversity in the brickwork and I also love the way the light has caught some of them

...I hope you do take more photos of them because they are beautiful. We just don't have such historic buildings here. About a mile from where I live, we have homes from the 1800s, but that's as old as it gets! The second photo is just gorgeous...love all those stones.

Lovely photos! We often don't see the beauty in our own neighborhood and getting your camera out and taking some shots helps you to see it in a different light. Thanks for sharing your walk with us.

You are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world. Enjoy it as much as you can.

Just from those photographs there is architecture from different periods of history.

Quite jealous really.

I can relate. I used to go through life not really noticing much but when I started taking pictures my eyes began to truely open up for the first time.
