Wind Farm, Aberystwyth

I took this photo of my son Adam, standing next to a wind turbine at Rheidol Wind Farm, Aberystwyth.
As you can see the turbines are huge.

I think the whole wind farm thing will fizzle out in years to come as they are definitely NOT cost effective. Landowners and the energy companies make a lot of money out of them via government subsidies and the government gets to feel good about itself regarding green credentials etc.

Many 'green' campaigners (notably James Lovelock) don't go along with the whole wind farm industry and I think it will be looked back on with horror in years to come.

I think they're monstrosities. Ugly blots on beautiful landscapes.

You failed to mention that Adam is six foot tall! They were huge, they were monstrosities, but there was something compelling about them...

At least your country is coming to its senses, the US on the other hand are marching into the abyss of greenie socialist terror.

I am with Jane here... there is just something about them and that is from an aesthetic point of view rather than anything else.
