Hungry lot these. Along with the Starlings, they cost me a fortune, but worth it.
They certainly do cost a fortune (but worth it as you say).I've started making my own fat balls - much cheaper!Also buy nuts and raisins from budget shops etc rather than as pre packed bird food, also cheaper.
I have a feeder out also but now that the weather is warmer I don't need to fill it as often as the winter.

The Sparrows in my garden empty this feeder about every two days.
